    INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Winston-Salem State University senior Tajanel McNeill received some great news when she was announced as one of the recipients of the NCAA Division II Degree Completion Award. The award will provide financial assistance to deserving student-athletes who have exhausted athletics eligibility.

    NEW ORLEANS, LA – After a great outdoor track & field season, several members of the Winston-Salem State University track & field team were honored as members of the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field teams. The WSSU student-athletes were honored after their strong performances at the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet in Allendale, Michigan this weekend.

    ALLENDALE, MI – The Winston-Salem State University women’s track & field team closed out the season in grand fashion when they totaled 18 points at the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet to tie for 12th at the meet. With scoring finishes in the 4x100m relay, the 4x400m relay, the women’s 400m hurdle, and the triple jump, the team had its best national performance in school history.

    ALLENDALE, MI – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams track & field team continued to roll on as they sent another qualifier to the finals of the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet. The Lady Rams’ 4x400m relay team won the opening heat of the event to place third and qualified for the event finals tomorrow.

The Lady Rams qualified in all three preliminary events that the team competed in Thursday and will compete for national finals, Saturday.

    INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The work is not done yet for the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams track & field program as eight members of the team were selected to compete in the 2015 Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 21-23rd in Allendale, Mich. When the selections were announced by the NCAA, Tuesday afternoon, the Lady Rams saw eight members of the program selected to compete for national championships.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams closed out the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Outdoor Women’s Track & Field Championship Meet with some great efforts and ended the day in second place at the meet. The runners-up finish came on the heels of spectacular individual performances at the meet that left the team with 161 total points.

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams took an early lead on the opening day of the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Women’s Track & Field Championship Meet. At the end of day one of the meet, the Lady Rams totaled 58 points to finish in first place on the opening day of the meet. Saint Augustine's is currently second with 50 first day points.

Senior sprinter Nya Michaux was named the CIAA Track Athlete of the Week while head coach Inez Turner was named the CIAA Women’s Track & Field Coach of the Week.

The honors came after a stellar indoor season that saw the team bring home its second Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championship.

  • Lady Rams Win 2015 CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championship

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams took home the 2015 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championship with a stellar performance on day two of the two-day meet. After opening the meet with 22 points on the opening day, the Lady Rams piled up 118 points on the second day of the meet to bring home the championship.
