DURHAM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams track & field team showed some quality performances down the final stretch of the regular season with some impressive performances on the opening day of the Duke Twilight. Looking for some solid performances prior to the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, the Lady Rams performed well against some of the best competition in the nation.
The Lady Rams made their biggest impressions on the track. Sophomore Tametris Morrison continued her great season when she placed seventh in the women's 400m hurdles with a 59.79, an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time. The sprint tandem of senior Nya Michaux and junior Raven Covington both ran qualifying times in the preliminaries of the women's 100m dash. Michaux topped Covington with an 11.75, setting a new personal best and placing sixth in the prelims. Covington placed seventh with an 11.76. Michaux followed the effort when she placed fifth in the event with an 11.78. Covington did not compete in the finals. Sophomore Ro'Daijah Faucette also had a great day when she placed sixth in the women's 400m dash with a 56.03.
