Rams Come Out Strong at Camel City Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams women's indoor track & field team put on some great performances at the Camel City Invitational at the JDL Fast Track. The WSSU sprinters took the opportunity to put on some great performances at the meet.

The Rams saw the best efforts on the track. Sophomore Victoria Porter had the best finish of the day for the Rams when she finished fifth in the women's 400m dash. She ran a 57.94 in the event. WSSU junior Cierra Thompson ran a 26.21 to place 13th in the women's 200m dash to place 15th in the event.

The field events also had some strong efforts as well. Senior Jenele Terry also had a great day to lead the team's field events. She placed third in the women's long jump with an 18'1 ¾" (5.53m) jump. Sophomore Ashley Taylor placed 12th in the women's shot put with a 38'8 ¾" (11.80m) jump.

The Rams will return to action this weekend when the team takes part in the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships, Sunday.
