  • Rams Trio Named to 2019 CIAA Volleyball All-Conference Team

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – After another successful season, the Winston-Salem State Rams had three players named to the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball All-Conference Team. Senior middle hitter Ytae Cobb was a first team All-CIAA selection while junior right side hitter Danyale Berry and sophomore setter Rylee Wilson both earned second team All-CIAA selections.
  • Rams Close Regular Season with a Four-Set Senior Night Win Over Livingstone

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – It took a lot of effort, but the Winston-Salem State Rams (16-9, 13-4 CIAA) were up to the task when the team took a four-set win over the Livingstone Blue Bears (12-12, 7-10 CIAA), Thursday evening. The Rams had to fight and claw for every point against a tough Blue Bears team that made every point an effort in the 25-14, 25-19, 23-25, and 25-21 win.
  • Taylor, Wilson Earn CIAA Weekly Honors

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The honors just keeping coming in for the Winston-Salem State volleyball program as senior outside hitter Miranda Taylor and sophomore setter Rylee Wilson both earned weekly honors from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). Taylor was named the CIAA Offensive Player of the Week while Wilson was named the CIAA Setter of the Week.
  • Rams Hold Off Claflin for a Three-Set Win

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (14-9, 11-4 CIAA) controlled their match from the beginning to the end when the team took a three-set win over the Claflin Lady Panthers (6-16, 5-10 CIAA), Wednesday evening. The Rams had to fight for every point, but the team was up to the task against a Claflin team that would not give in easily.
  • Rams Stifled in a Three-Set Loss at Shaw

    RALEIGH, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (13-9, 10-4 CIAA) could not quite get their offense in gear when the team took a three-set road loss to the Shaw Lady Bears (13-8, 13-1 CIAA), Tuesday evening. The Rams kept up their attacks, but the team could not put them away against the tough Shaw defense, Tuesday.
  • Rams Cruise to a Three-Set Win Over Saint Augustine's

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (13-8, 10-3 CIAA) clicked on all cylinders when the team took a dominating three-set win over the Saint Augustine’s Falcons (0-12, 0-12 CIAA), Monday evening. The Rams controlled the match from the very beginning and never looked back as they cruised to their Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) victory.

    FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (12-8, 9-3 CIAA) gave a strong effort, but the team came up short in a three-set loss to the Fayetteville State Broncos (9-6, 9-1 CIAA), Thursday evening. The Rams put on a competitive effort in two of the three sets, but some second set struggles cost the team in the hard-fought match.

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (9-6, 6-1 CIAA) clicked on all cylinders when the team took a three-set win over the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls (3-7, 2-5 CIAA), Monday evening. The Rams dominated the match from the very beginning on their way to the win.

    FLORENCE, SC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (8-6) had their six-match winning streak snapped when the team took a three-set road loss to the Francis Marion Patriots (10-9), Saturday afternoon. The Rams struggled in every set of the match, falling 25-16, 25-11, and 25-18.
  • Rams Storm Back for a Five-Set Win Over Shaw

    WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (8-5, 5-1 CIAA) had to come back from two sets down to claim their sixth straight victory when the team took a five-set win over the Shaw Lady Bears (6-8, 6-1 CIAA), Thursday evening. After opening the match with back-to-back set losses, 19-25, and 18-25 to the Lady Bears, the Rams kicked things into gear to win the final three sets of the match, 25-18, 25-20, and 15-11.
  • Cobb, Wallace Earn CIAA Weekly Honors

    CHARLOTTE, NC – After a great performance last week, the Winston-Salem State Rams earned a pair of honors from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). WSSU senior outside hitter Ytae Cobb was named the CIAA Offensive Player of the Week while sophomore libero Myra Wallace was named the CIAA Defensive Player of the Week. The honors came after the Rams went a perfect 5-0 during the week, including winning five CIAA matches.

    ORANGEBURG, SC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (6-5, 3-1 CIAA) got their fourth straight win, Saturday morning when the team took a four-set win over the Elizabeth City State Vikings (2-4, 0-1 CIAA) at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Round Up. The Rams took the hard-fought win behind a terrific overall performance in the match.

  • Rams Picked to Finish Fourth in CIAA Predictions; Four Rams Named to Pre-Season All-CIAA Team

    CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams will look to prove the predictors wrong in the upcoming season as the team was picked to finish fourth overall and third in their division in the 2019 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Predicted Order of Finish. The Rams will have a lot of talent to do it with as four WSSU players were selected for the 2019 CIAA Preseason All-Conference team.
