CHARLOTTE, NC – Winston-Salem State University freshman outside hitter Sanaa Lanier was honored for a solid week, Tuesday, when she was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Rookie of the Week. She took home the honor after three strong performances for the Rams.
Lanier, a native of Garner, N.C., finished the week with 14 kills, 16 digs, and three service aces for the Rams. For the week, she had a .342 hitting percentage. It was against Belmont Abbey when she had her best performance as she recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs. For the match, she recorded a .409 hitting percentage. She totaled 18.5 points for the week.
