Rams Take a Three-Set Loss at Francis Marion

FLORENCE, SC – The Winston-Salem State Rams (8-6) had their six-match winning streak snapped when the team took a three-set road loss to the Francis Marion Patriots (10-9), Saturday afternoon. The Rams struggled in every set of the match, falling 25-16, 25-11, and 25-18.

As a team, the Rams' offense struggled when they were held to just 22 kills with 19 attack errors in the match. WSSU freshman outside hitter Sanaa Lanier led the way for the Rams with five kills in the match. Senior outside hitters Ytae Cobb and Miranda Taylor both added four kills each in the match as well. Defensively, sophomore libero Myra Wallace added 14 digs in the match.

With the loss, the Rams fall to 8-6 overall. The team will return to action, Monday when the team hosts the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls in a 6:00 p.m. match.
