Rams Cross Country Teams Post Solid Times at 10th Annual Cedric Walker HBCU Cross Country Challenge

CARY, NC – The Winston-Salem State Rams cross country teams hit the course for the Cedric Walker 10th Annual HBCU Cross Country Challenge, Saturday morning. The Rams men's and women's teams competed against some of the top HBCU cross country teams from both NCAA Division II and Division II at the meet.

The Rams women's team led the way at the meet when they placed seventh in the women's 5K run. The team totaled 171 points at the meet. WSSU junior Tamia McLean led the way for the Rams when she placed 28th in the women's' 5K run with a 21:40.0. Junior Ojai Brooks placed 30th when she ran a 21:42.8.

The Rams men's team also had a solid day when they placed 11th in the men's 8K run. As a team, the Rams totaled 291 points at the meet. WSSU freshman Jordan Savoy led the way for the Rams when he placed 51st with a 34:36.2 in the men's 8K run. Junior Ashley Simon placed 56th with a 35:30.2. Freshman Dahjon Prince placed 57th with a 35:33.0.
